AUSTRALIA  comprises an area of some 8 million square kilometres;  it is a country of extremes and almost all of it is accessible by rental motorhome, campervan, car or motorbike.  Exploring Australia by motorvehicle provides you with the chance to venture into remote areas, tropical rainforests  as well as inland deserts.   You will find an abundance of plant and tree species as well as an enormous diversity of bird- and other animal species (marsupials!) that are unique to Australia.   Visit large cosmopolitan cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Perth but also tiny Outback settlements.    Australia and its easygoing friendly people welcome you to a true adventure that you will never forget!

VISA:
You require a (free of charge) visa for Australia if you plan to stay for less than 3 months.  This can be easily organised through this government site:
short term visa

For longer stays, between 3 and 12 months, you need to obtain the ETA form:
long term visa

It may be wise to be informed about using the toll roads around Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane before you step on the plane heading for Australia.  Toll roads in Australia are easy to use and save lots of time to travel through or around these large cities.  But there are not toll booths and it is your responsibility to pay the tolls within 3 days by phone and your credit card.  Failing to do so will result in hefty fines which are easy to avoid.  Read more about Toll Roads:  Australian Toll Roads
